Rating: 4/5

Story: The plot is about a time traveler who can revisit incidents that happened in their timeline. The Lake family resides at home by the sea. The family consists of Mary (mother), James (father), Tim (son), Katherine (daughter), and Desmond (uncle). James shares a secret with his son about his family’s time travel powers. Men born into their family can travel back in time and live in the events they encountered in their lifetime.

Tim uses his powers to find luck in his dating life. Finally, he meets Mary (Rachel MacAdams), who reciprocates the same affection and love. The relationship ends in marriage, and Mary announces her pregnancy as well. As good events happen in Tim’s life, he faces a few challenges with his sister Kat’s personal life. She becomes addicted to alcohol because of personal relationship issues. Tim tires to mitigate his sister’s grief, using his powers by removing bad experiences from his sister’s life. This results in the unexpected replacement of his daughter with a son in the present.

Unable to contemplate his life without his daughter, he changes back to the original timeline and lets his sister go through those tough moments. His sister undergoes rehab and comes clean. Later, she finds her love and fixes relationship issues. Tim discovers that his father is suffering from cancer and does not have much time left. He promises to meet his father using his time travel capabilities.

He never uses his power to relive tough moments in his life. When Mary plans on having a third child, Tim informs his father about it and says he cannot use his powers to meet him after his third child is born. James acknowledges the decision made by his son. Before his third child is born, Tim meets his father for the last time and says goodbye. As time passes, Tim relishes each day passing in his life from small to big events. Finally, one fine day he decides never to use his powers again.
